This is a cool, nourishing little snack or breakfast treat…
Just fill a dish with vanilla or plain yogurt, or really any flavor to your liking…
And simply sprinkle with a layer of sugar & salted pistachios on top! It is better to have even more pistachios than shown in the picture above–they add a delicious salty crunch to contrast with the smooth sweetness of the yogurt.
Enjoy!

Cherry season!
This simple cherry yogurt is delicious any time of day…
You will need:
plain yogurt, cherries, lemon, & sugar
Plain yogurt, cherries, lemon, & sugar.

First, remove the stems & the pits…

If you do not have a cherry pit-removing-device, that’s okay!
Just cut the cherry with a knife & dig out the pit with the tip of the knife or with a little help from your fingers.

Place the cherries in a bowl & mix in yogurt, & then add some fresh squeezes of lemon juice…
If you are making individual portions, you can add a nice thick layer of sugar on top, & just leave it there…
Otherwise, if you are making a large bowl-full to serve family style, you can mix in the sugar.

Then simply garnish with whole cherries & fresh lemon slices!

Enjoy!

…if you have tons of cherry pits this summer, you may want to make a cherry pit bean bag!
Amazing Earth Fact (AEF): Cherries are drupaceous fruits, come to find out!!!
A ”drupe” is a stone fruit, a fruit with a hard covering around the seed: Cherry, peach, plum, & even the coconut, to name a few! We thought it was that the cherries drooped so temptingly from the trees, but…no.
It comes from the Latin “drupa,” which means “overripe, wrinkly olive.” Drupa is immortalized in that beloved ABBA song known the whole wide universe over, Super Drupa, a tribute to the humble but delicious little cherry!
