lucky in love!
After my friends & acquaintances have known me for a while, they always ask me, “Clay Ball, are you lucky in love?”
And I would have to say, “Yes!”
For you see, once long ago when I was younger, I married a star! Yes, it’s true!
There he is!

* just married!*
You may wonder how my family felt about me marrying a star…
Well, it was a little bit uncommon. We are a family and, in fact, a planet, of clay balls…we are all pretty much very simple, open-minded but traditional, and, as you say here on this planet, “down to Earth.”
Stars, as you can imagine, are more fast-paced, exciting, & altogether more adventuresome than any clay ball would ever dare dream to be! (Although we do have occasional clay balls that do seem to wander from this pattern…)
But, we were young & very much in love… & my parents are very trusting & kind-hearted, so they were happy that I had met such a kind & wonderful star…
It seemed like we just blinked once or twice, & before we knew it,

…we welcomed first little LB & then Seala to the Universe!

It is an interesting thing…when LB & Seala are with my family & the other clay balls at my home, they seem to be clay balls like the rest of us…
But now, when I see LB with his Dad…I see his star qualities come out…He is not just a simple clay ball, & his stariness is more pronounced now that he is getting older…

I notice it with Seala, too, when she is with her Dad. She has some sparkling star qualities that we just don’t see in most clay balls…
Well, to make an oval story round…
In my ancesteral homeland we have a saying:
When two people marry, they say it takes a while for them to rub the edges off of one another, so they can both live smoothly together, as clay balls should…but, as you can imagine, one can’t rub the radiating edges off of a star! Impossible! They would no longer be a star…they would be something very sad, indeed.
And so, my dear readers, it did not work out, our marriage. I had my simple clay ball ways, & he had a bright star-life to lead…
Truthfully, my dear readers, I brought great shame to my family… breaking up a marriage is not just taboo in my home planet, it is unheard of! A clay ball has never left her husband in the entire history of my planet!!!
My family was very sad…because they loved Star like a son, & still do…But they said, Clay Ball, pull yourself together & make the best of things…be strong & keep going!
So, that is what I did!

LB & Seala miss their Dad very much! They need him to show him the ways of the stars…& he does this whenever they are together…
Luckily, we see them often…Star & his new star wife…

They just moved very close by! Close to Earth, closer than most stars ever venture here! Maybe you have even seen them on a clear night?
And guess what? LB & Seala have a new little sister!!! She is the cutest baby star ever!
I think, of all the places in the Universe, this little planet Earth is known as the most diverse, hospitable, & friendly planet ever, in the history of all time!
I hope that my children LB & Seala, with their simple Clay Ball & shimmery Star qualities will be able to grow & flourish here…
& really, I know deep down with all my heart that they will find their way…
And to answer that first question, I would still have to say that, YES, I have always been very lucky in love!
Love rocks the stars!
love,
Clay Ball
