a new friend
While in the capital city of Sofia, Bulgaria, my sister & brother-in-law met this kind little elephant, Slon.
He goes by the nickname of ”Lon.”
In Sofia, my sister tells me, there is an elderly gentleman always standing very straight & proud, who sells his wares outdoors…He places his carvings made of scrap wood on the same windowsill of a large building each day, and it is here among the sculptures where my sister met Lon!
Somehow, it transpired that my brother-in-law & sister agreed to take Lon in their space kayak across the Ocean, which was always his greatest dream.
I had never actually met an elephant before!
LB has always loved elephants & was delighted by our new guest! Seala was a bit shy to meet a real elephant, after all we had read about them in books…
Anyways, Lon is a very kind & gentle elephant, used to living on windowsills…
We’re so happy to have this adventuresome elephant as a new friend!
