Well, my good friend Lon the Elephant is always full of surprises! Just recently, he & Ana have taken up ballroom dancing!
As children, they used to folk dance in their home village…and now they have taken up some new steps…
You may be surprised, but elephants are remarkably graceful dancers!

…hmmm…this may be freestyle…
…and the waltz!

Today, at long last, we brought in our sunflower harvest! I think I mentioned earlier in the summer, out of all the sunflower seeds we planted, just one brave & hearty Russian Mammoth Sunflower grew…and grew…and grew…
It was pure joy for the bees…
…as the days passed, & a cool & rainy Autumn arrived, I waited & waited, & thought that the seeds would never form completely…
The sunflower had become a wrinkled, dried out, forlorn thing, hanging droopily from its giant stalk…
….Until one day… we discovered…that it was bursting with new, plump seeds!
Hurray for the brave sunflower who never gave up!
I am so happy!
I just can’t wait to plant a new bumper crop of sunflowers next year!
