how to have a tag sale

My dear, sweet readers, did I ever mention our spring tag sale to you?

Well, here is how it went…Since moving here to Earth last year, we have somehow amassed quite a collection of things. We came with just our space kayak , really, & a few poems from home. But during the winter months, I had to build a little shed (which doubled as a playhouse for LB & Seala & their friends), to hold all of our newly found items.

One day, my friend Tabasco came over for a little visit, & she told me about the concept of a tag sale! I loved the idea…and so the next day, we got right to work! First was this piece of wood pictured above…I am not exactly sure what it is for, but it has an amazing, perfectly round hole in the center, & I feel like it might someday be an entranceway for something we might like to build…so we’ll set that aside for now…

Next came a pointy metal object, which seemed to cause a lot of trouble, shrieks, & pokes all winter long, so that could definitely go…

But LB explained to me passionately & earnestly & loudly that this was his SWORD! He was sworn by a royal oath to keep it unto his dying day!
Okay then, the sword could stay, but no poking others!

Well, then at least there were these lovely blue tiles, which might just fetch a good price, I would hope…

But Seala, always a quick study of LB’s methods, gave her own dramatic performance of why the tiles MUST NOT GO! There were so many possibilities for these blue tiles (even I could see that!).

Well then, there was this thing…a cork! Finally, something we all agreed could go…until someone discovered that it actually floats! That could come in very handy in the summer for lots of water fun, so we thought.
My dear Readers, I guess I don’t have to tell you where this is all leading…
It led to our almost-tag sale…
….and so, we put everything carefully back into our little shed…& called it a day.
How about you? Are you planning a tag sale or maybe just an almost-tag sale this spring?
love,
Clay Ball
