mystery tracks in the snow

This afternoon, I decided to go out tracking!
I had been inspired by reading this fascinating book from the public library… Tracking & the Art of Seeing by Paul Rezendes…So, as soon as I was finished with work today, I jumped into my space kayak & flew to the nearby wilderness, as fast as I possibly could…
I saw many bird tracks, as in the very first picture above…
…& quite a few squirrel tracks…
…until finally I came upon the trail of these fresh tracks in the snow…
I followed the trail, flying low above the ground in my space kayak, until up ahead…
I spotted a mighty creature trotting along!
He was going very quickly, but I kept flying along, flying along, swift as the wind…the cold breeze wooshing all around me…
Until he finally heard me calling out “Hello there!”…
and then…YES!…I met my first wolf!
His name is Marcus, & he is very friendly & open hearted! Here, you can see us chatting…he is from Canada, but headed down further south to explore a bit…he is very young & explorative, maybe a teen wolf!
I gave him a ride in my space kayak for a little ways, for he had never been in one before, & then we tried a bit of sledding, too! That was a lot of fun!
Then it was time for me to head back home, & Marcus to continue on, on his quest…He did say he would stop by & visit our family whenever he was in this area!
Well, now I can breathe a great big sigh of happiness…I finally met a wolf today!

Wow, Clay Ball! What are the chances of seeing and befriending a Canadian wolf? How amazing is that? xoxoxo Cocomum
I am amazed…
…as the Mongolian grandmother in the movie “The Great Match” expressed is so beautifully, this was “another day witnessing existance in bewilderment”!
