winter solstice!

This afternoon after work, I was going to go for a little flight in my space kayak…
It was so very cold! The window that I usually fly out of in the winter was frozen shut, & when I was able to pry it open, in tumbled a small mountain of ice & snow!
Before I knew it, the sun had plopped down below the horizon! Then I remembered, it was the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere!
Although I am able to fly in the dark, I really prefer to fly when it is light out…so that I can see…
I guess I’ll just wait for tomorrow, when the days start getting longer again! Hurray for sunlight!
