lon & ana
Well, readers from all over the planet, as well as one or two from farther away, have been writing to ask, “How is Lon the Elephant doing these days?”
I did not see Lon at all last week, but was able to catch up with him a little bit over the weekend…and you will be happy to hear that Lon is just fine!
I found him in the garlic patch on Saturday…
The garlic he planted about a month ago has sprouted, but Lon said not to worry, it will be fine over the winter & will sprout again when springtime comes around…
Lon & Ana spent the weekend planting garlic, as the ground has not frozen yet, & they plan to have a tiny garlic farm! They will sell it at a roadside stand or a farmer’s market next summer…
During the week, they have been quite occupied working on the yardwork & leaf removal business…& collecting & shredding leaves for mulch & composting…
As far as anyone can tell, Lon & Ana are busy & happy, & have lots of news & conversation to catch up on & relay to one another…
And so, our little neighborhood breathed a huge & joyful sigh of relief this past week!
