a dream come true
My dear Readers,
As you may have guessed from the episode about my dream home…in order to tell you about the dream in living detail, & have photos to show you…we actually had to build a home!
And here is how it came about: On the day of our spontaneous family reunion…we were all sitting around in a circle after the delicious Bulgarian dinner, & I had recounted my dream to the family. My dear family, although steady & true clay balls from the largest down to the tiniest, are all sometimes a little bit excitable…
When they heard of my dream, they jumped up en masse & started excitedly planning to build me a home, just like the ones on our home planet…there was nothing I could do to stop them!
My Dad knew where there was a local clay pit to find clay for the home, & the next morning, it all unfolded just as in my dream…Even the Ancient Ones, the giant ancestors, somehow caught wind of the new home , & arrived here, on Earth, to help build it! How do they find us, I wonder?
(Are they watching me now??? I am sitting up a little straighter, just in case!)
I was able to photograph the whole home building process, of course, & those are the photos you saw in the dream home story…
So now that the weather is turning cooler, I am so happy & relieved to say that we have a home for the winter! Thank you, thank you, all my dear family & the Ancient Ones far away! I love you!
But, my dear Readers, there is more!
My father, while all this time we thought he was exploring the White Mountains, studying the rocks, falls, ravines, & glacial erratics, was actually building a home of his own!!!
But did Dad build a traditional home from our planet ~ ?
No, he did not! Ever the explorer, he salvaged scrap wood from his wanderings here on Earth, & he built more of a people-style home!
He built one cozy room for my Mom Ball…where she can have quiet moments of meditation and contemplation.
(In a wonderful turn of events, our Mom decided to stay here for the winter as well…although she is such a homebody & loves her home planet with all her heart, I think she missed Dad & all of her children & grandchildren!) (Hurray, Mom Ball! We are so happy you are staying!)
There is a comfortable room for Dad & his growing rock collection…
Much to our amazement, Dad even sewed beautiful curtains for the windows! Dad, you rock!
And the biggest surprise of all…
My wonderful, wonderful sister Tessa, her dear husband Thor, & Baby Joy (the most travelling members of our family!) decided to stay here on Earth for the winter too!!!
I am so happy! There is a big, comfortable room in the new home for them…
Since Thor is an artist, & has quite a bit of experience painting murals, he always encourages the children in that direction…
So one side of the house was painted by Thor & Seala with a beautiful rainbow…
Beautiful work, Thor & Seala!
And Thor & LB painted the other side of the house with a more abstract, stellar design…
Amazing art, Thor & LB!
Oops, steady there, LB!
Of course, Dad included our traditional skylight, & everyone waited breathlessly for the moment the sun shone into the new home…
I think it will be a very peaceful winter here on Earth!
love,
Clay Ball
