my brother

Did I ever tell you about my big brother?  Here is what he looked like when we were young!

He was very kind, strong, & brave.  He protected me, told me funny stories, & was also a bit of a prankster at times…Of course, when it came to clay balls outside our family, my brother would always stick up for me!

Brother taught me the ways of the world, of course, & taught me the thinking habits of the males of our kind, so I understood their motives & intentions…

And, he taught me lots of practical knowledge, too, which he gained through exploration, reconnaissance, and collecting of handy & strange items…which he kept scattered about…or sequestered in mysterious piles…or buried in a secretive location in the ground, under a rock, exactly 17 paces  from our front door…

My brother!

So what if he was only imaginary?   I didn’t hold that against him!

While I was blessed with the 2 most wonderful, real, & true sisters in the entire Universe, I was also lucky enough to have my Imaginary Brother, too!

One morning, he taught me to fly a kite at dawn, before the rest of the family awoke…

And another time, he showed me his space kayak, retrofitted with a sparkling nebula…

…there was really no end to things he would teach me…

My dear Readers, as you know by now, I am a very practical, steadfast, and straightforward clay ball, not given to flights of fancy or an over-exuberant imagination…

…but, when I think back to my childhood, I can very clearly remember all the tricky situations my Imaginary Brother helped me out of…

Hmmmm…

Maybe, rather than an illusion…maybe my Brother was a premonition…because he was just like the Real Brother that my daughter has…

She has LB!

Lucky Seala!  And lucky LB!  There is nothing quite like a brother & a sister!  I love to watch them go about their games, explorations, compromises, and intricate trades & deals…

We have a brother & a sister who live next door, quite a bit younger than LB & Seala, & they have a similar dynamic… How fascinating & mysterious!

Just as a side note, my dear Readers, it may seem to you that I speak mostly of LB & very little of my daughter, Seala…and that is true!  But, as you know, I love them both 100% with all my heart, and EQUALLY  (for all the Universe to witness…listen up, kiddos…equally!)

…but, Seala actually forbade me to write too much about her…and only with her permission…when the moon is in the 3rd quarter…and a warm westerly breeze is blowing…

…so I can only mention Seala (not my daughter’s real name, by the way!) occasionally, to protect her fierce love of privacy.  I respect that in my daughter.  My son, LB, on the other hand, he does not mind…

How is it that each Being  is created so uniquely, right from the very start?  That is a mystery indeed!

Wait a minute.  I’ll go ask my BrotherHe’ll know the answer to that, for sure!
