The day after we came to Earth, we located North America. It was a stormy, thundery day throughout the whole of the Americas, or so it seemed…finally, we were lucky enough to be caught in a gust of wind & flown straight into an open window of a 2-family house (probably the only open window in the hemisphere that day!)…and we have lived here ever since…
It is a house of two talented musician birds, a quiet young couple who are aquatic turtles, a family of people, a noisy troupe of squirrels on the 3rd floor, a family of people with tiny babies downstairs, a wise old cricket, and the list goes on & on…it is called a 2-family house, but, in actuality, many families live here!
LB, Seala, & I have been camping out on the windowsill, which lets us see the familiar stars at night, and we are happy & comfortable there!
But just lately, my dear friend Tabasco advised that I shall need to find a little home for the winter, & soon…she says the winters here are very cold, even inside a 2-family house, especially on the windowsill. Tabasco lives in the cozy home pictured above…
I think it is because of all that talk, that last night, I had the strangest dream…
I dreamt that my family travelled here to Earth, to build me a home, just as we do on my planet…
Our ancient ancestors also came to help…
These are the clay balls who lived long, long ago. It is hard to explain how they come help us, but they always do. The Ancient Ones originally came to our tiny planet from somewhere else far away, but nobody remembers where!
The Ancients were much larger than we clay balls are today. They seem almost giants compared to us!
Anyway, in my dream, we made a home in the traditional way…First, we take a big mound of clay, and one of the Ancient Ones shapes it into a spacious bowl…
Then, we have a special blue stone, which we use to make a little window, a sky light. Nobody knows where this mysterious stone came from…we think the Ancient Ones brought it with them when they settled on our planet.
We fashion the doorway using a special nut, also from that same far-away place…
And finally we turn the house upright, so that it is standing…
The next part is a timeless ritual, which we really believe it is important for happiness in the new home…
We go inside & wait for the sun to shine through the sky light, forming a perfect circle on the ground. When that happens, happiness and all good things have entered into your home!
Then, we take the threshold, & form it into a special bowl…
…which will be used to bring the family and guests health & happiness with every meal…
Finally we place our home at the edge of the water, with a little dock out front…
There is a garden all around and water in the front yard, so the children can swim over to their relatives & friends…
Everyone gathers to celebrate the new house, but by now the Ancient Ones have already gone, once they know that their job is done…
This morning I woke up, comforted by my family’s dream visit…
All day long, I can’t shake this dream…
